How to look your best

The very first thing to do is to visit, or at least speak to your photographer before you book and discuss the type & style of photograph's you would like to end up with.

Today's families prefer images that are more relaxed and less posed. These photographs can be in colour, black and white or soft tinted sepia. We have samples available to show you.

Families & Groups - What to wear?

Results are often better if everyone in the group is dressed in a similar style. Do not mix casual & formal. Solid colours work better than stripes & patterns. When families are photographed, we generally photograph the children separately as well.

Ladies

If you are being photographed on your own, the results are always better when there are no other people looking on. In family portraits it often looks better to have arms & shoulders covered, but in individual photos wear something as glamorous as you like - even borrow an outfit from a good friend!

Darker clothing can look dramatic & tends to minimize body size. Lighter tones tend to emphasise body size. If in doubt please bring a choice of outfits.

Make-up - You would wear the same as you would for a night out, especially the eyes. If in doubt, less is better. If you really want to go to town we do have Maggie who is excellent at hair & make-up. Maggie can be contacted on 0411 528 489.

Men

Dress for the occassion. Long trousers generally look better than shorts, even at the beach. Plain solid colours. Avoid logos. Make an effort, there's nothing wrong in trying to look good!

Children

Avoid logo tops & large motifs, as these are too distracting, please bring a change of clothes.

Babies

Generally photograph better wearing as little as possible. Try to avoid knitted items (unless its a family favourite). Babies asleep look pretty cute so do not wake them up when you arrive at the studio.

Teenagers

Normally do not like being photographed - its so uncool! So let them bring whatever clothes they want PLUS what you would like them to wear. Do not watch them being photographed.

Finally

Try not to prompt children beforehand on how to smile or to behave as this tends to put them under pressure and makes them self conscious. They will find the session fun and won't have time to misbehave!

Your images will be ready to view a few days after the session. It will be at this time that you make your selection.
